A FLASH FLOOD warning has been issued by the Barbados Meteorological Services.

Director Hampden Lovell said “the combination of light winds, an abundance of low level moisture and strong daytime heating” was causing moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms in some central, western, north-western and northern areas of the island.

Residents in flood prone areas have been advised to be on the alert and take necessary precautions.

The warning, which was issued at 1:30 p.m., will remain in effect until 4 p.m. (PR/NB)
