A king and a queen: what more could anyone ask for?
Reigning calypso monarch, Queen Rita Forrester is fortunate to be blessed with both because organisers think she’s worth it.
Yesterday Rita had the opportunity to meet with her sponsor, king and queen for the Super King Calypso Contest being presented by the NATION and Keyboard Incorporated. The show is carded for November 18 at Kensington Oval.
Forrester’s sponsor is Elias Industries Ltd. And her king is none other than managing director Odil Elias.
She will have as her queen Salima Rohoman, sales representative at Elias Import and Export Co., a subsidiary if Elias Industries Ltd.
Elias is very thrilled that he will be Rita’s king and looks forward to the functions and the big show that he will be attending as her king and escort.
Rita, who said her chances are as good as everybody else’s, will be delivering her favourite tune Woman Respect Yourself and Tell Me, her independence tune which asks the public what are their feelings on independence.
