Lady Cavs roll to 12th basketball title

MAKE THAT 12 for the undisputed queens of local basketball.

Astrid Alleyne had a game-high 21 points as Station Hill wrapped up yet another league title by beating rivals UWI Blackbirds 67-51 in Thursday’s Game 2 of the finals at the Wildey Gym.

Wanda Agard-Belgrave added 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Ria Phillips chipped in with 12 points to help the Cavs secure a second straight title win over UWI and their 12th overall in 14 years.

National captain Toni Atherley led UWI with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Kalaria Obasi had 13 points. (JM)
