Springer Memorial and Christ Church Foundation captured the senior titles, but Harrison College (HC) earned the Boys’ Under-13 and Under-15 crowns when the National Sports Council’s indoor hockey competitions climaxed yesterday at the Wildey Gymnasium.

Both HC and Foundation were appearing in three of the four finals, with the Church Hill-based team heavily favoured to have the edge over College. However, greater desire from HC saw Foundation suffering a 2-1 upset loss to the Crumpton Street lads in the Under-15 version.

The first final for the Under-13 crown saw College defeating the defending champions Foundation in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 score-line following regular and extra time. While College scored their first two of three penalties, Foundation missed theirs.

Springer easily captured the girls’ crown with a 3-0 defeat of Harrison College.

Foundation then defeated St Leonard’s “B” 5-0. (KB)
