It was an experience that Cytomia Worrell did not want happen to her on a Sunday afternoon.
And her dilemma was made even more horrifying because no one with professional expertise was on hand to help her get rid of the waste from a choked toilet system that floated through the ground floor of her National Housing Corporation unit at 49 St Anne Road, St Michael yesterday.
She said the problem seemed to be with the manhole in the yard that needs clearing.
“I went to National Housing Corporation and told them that my toilet choke, the man said he was going to send someone and he wrote it down in a book. I battled with this Wednesday, Thursday Friday and yesterday [Saturday],” said a frustrated Worrell.
“I decide the only thing to do is to don’t flush the toilet and see if we can manage without using it until tomorrow morning [today].
“My grandson, who is 11 years old, was outside playing and he come and flush the toilet and the rest is history. I am in a pool of . . . water. I know you know this can’t be good,” said an emotional Worrell who broke down in tears.
