Lashley: Abandon White Hill

WHITE HILL, ST ANDREW should be abandoned immediately.

That is the word from Minister of Transport and Works Michael Lashley who is currently on site in the rural community which is experiencing severe erosion and land slippage.

Lashley and other technical officials from the Ministry are touring the community which has been thrown into the national spotlight recently.

The Minister said it would take a significant amount of money to repair the road and he would be meeting with Minister of Housing Denis Kellman and other stakeholders to discuss relocation of the residents.

There has been significant deterioration of the road to White Hill overnight. It has fallen in even more and residents could not send their children to school today. (MB)
