MEMBERS OF THE public are asked to note that there will be no garbage collection on Monday, December 1, as it is being observed as a national holiday.

In addition, public relations officer at the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA), Carl Padmore, is advising that all cemeteries and the landfill at Mangrove Pond at Vaucluse, St. Thomas, will also be closed on that day.

However, he gave the assurance that under the new routing system being rolled out by the SSA that garbage collections will resume during the rest of the week.

“The SSA continues to work to ensure that there is adequate collection for all Barbadians,” he said.

Padmore further apologised for delays in the service, which occurred as a result of heavy rainfall last Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and stated that the Authority was working to regularise the situation. (BGIS)
