Fast and furious. And apparently safe too.

The Coverley course may be a speedy one, but race organiser Colin Forde has allayed any safety concerns heading into today’s Friends of Cycling multi-race event, having detailed the medical services that will be on hand at The Villages.

“It’s a fast course, yes, but this is going to be a very safe event as the Barbados Cycling Union will be having an ambulance service there and that is being backed up by The Villages Medical Centre just in case,” Forde revealed.

“We have more than enough marshals working the event, police services will be on hand and we are also looking to add additional lighting for the course,”

“There’s really no need to worry where medical personnel is concerned so we’re telling any and every one to just bring a bicycle and come and ride because we’re catering for the fans too,” he added. (JM)
