LONG-STANDING cricket commentator Andrew Mason is bemoaning the treatment being meted out to two senior players on the Barbados Pride team in this year’s WICB Professional Cricket League (PCL).

Mason says that the Hendy Wallace-led selection panel has a lot to answer for in the way they have treated out-of-favour West Indies cricketers Tino Best and Ryan Hinds so far this season.

Best is yet to play a match in this year’s tournament while Hinds only played his first match in the just-concluded third round but he produced a vital allround performance that helped Barbados to a narrow two-run victory over the previously unbeaten Guyana Jaguars at the National Stadium in Providence.

“I cannot believe that you pick Tino Best in a squad and you don’t play him,” Mason told MIDWEEK SPORT in an interview from Guyana where he did radio commentary on the match.
