Ex-policewoman charged with hiding drugs in tights

A FORMER GUYANESE policewoman will appear in court today charged with bringing cannabis and cocaine into Barbados.

Police say Nicolle Ronata Monroe, 44, arrived by air from Guyana on December 2 and was interviewed by Drug Squad personnel and referred to Customs for searches.

Six taped packages of cannabis weighing 4 ½ pounds and two taped packages of cocaine weighing half a kilogramme were reportedly discovered concealed in tights she was wearing.

Monroe is expected to appear in the District “B”Magistrates’ Court to face charges of possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation in relation to each of the drugs. (PR/NB)
