New bins to the rescue

A LOCAL MANUFACTURER has come up with a receptacle to help deal with the runaway garbage problems across Barbados.

L&N Workshop Inc., in Cane Garden, St Thomas, has started building two sizes of the roadside garbage collectors that can be used to help with the indiscriminate dumping taking place across many districts.

Norman Edwards, managing director of L&N, yesterday displayed the product for a number of Government officials who were on tour of his facility for other reasons.

The skip, which is for bagged garbage only, will not collect water, neither can rodents or dogs enter it to create other problems for residents. The unit can be placed on a specially prepared base so that it cannot be easily removed.
