Dear Christine,
I bring you greetings from my shores to yours. Here is my story.
I have been in a loveless marriage for 15 years. Three years ago, I met and fell in love with a wonderful man who also happens to be married.
We shared many things in common including a passionate, fantastic and secret love affair.
This was until four months ago when his wife discovered that he was seeing me.
I thought then that since everything was out in the open it would be okay for us to continue seeing each other. However, it did not play out that way at all.
He told me when we met that he was not in love with her and led me to believe he wanted our relationship to go on indefinitely.
Now, far from that, he tells me he still loves his wife; that he has no intention of leaving her and their two grown sons, and that he no longer wants to be in a relationship with me.
Honestly, Christine? I don’t want to let him go. I want to live my life with him and be part of his world. I will do anything I can to get him away from his wife.
I hope he sees this letter (as I know he reads your column) and that he will come to the point of realising our love is forever.

Dear D.E.,
I am tempted to sing the song Another One Bites The Dust.
Clearly, you have not been keeping track of the many mistresses who believe they possessed the power and know-how to keep a married man interested in them. Only to come to the conclusion that the extended “honeymoon” comes to an end eventually.
You are obviously obsessed with this man who, after receiving his fill of what you were offering him, is now ready to be the dedicated husband all over again.
To continue to pursue him would be a greater disaster for you, especially when he is no longer showing an interest in you.
You need to dedicate yourself to working on your own marriage. Perhaps when you do, you’ll discover that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush; just like your lover discovered that fact.
– CHRISTINE
