TWO STALWARTS who gave sterling service to the education system in Barbados were singled out for praise and rewarded at a ceremony this morning.

Wayne “Poonka” Willock, deputy principal at the Princess Margaret Secondary School, St Philip, and Chester Mapp, a security guard, are both retiring after serving the institution in their respective roles.

Willock is leaving the teaching service after 33 years – three of those spent at Princess Margaret – while Mapp put in 19 years.

Willock was recognised not only for his tenure at Princess Margaret but his dedication to the cultural work he did among the students.jatonia-holder-princess-margaret
