Big names for BCL final

Several former Division One and Elite cricketers as well as past and present Barbados players will be on show in today’s Barbados Cricket League’s Twenty20 final at Blenheim “A”.

The final, which is expected to attract a large crowd, will see Benson Minimart Old Brigand Melbourne clashing with a LIME side bolstered by the inclusion of Barbados and West Indies “A” off-spinning all-rounder Ashley Nurse, at 1 p.m.

Melbourne is skippered by veteran Dayne Maynard, the long-standing St Catherine and former Barbados fast-bowler-cum opening batsman, while former national Under-19 pacer Gordon Maxwell is at LIME’s helm.

Also in the Melbourne side is yet another former Barbados fast bowler, Sam Skeete, who played for many seasons with Empire and went close to making the West Indies team.
