Season’s Greetings!

The board of directors, management and staff of the Barbados Association of Retired Persons (BARP) extend a special Christmas wish to each and everyone of our members and friends in Barbados as well as to our regional colleagues and beyond. We wish you a Christmas full of love, happiness, peace and joy as well as a prosperous and healthy New Year.

The year 2014 was a very productive and active one. We forged many strategic alliances with corporate Barbados in a continuing effort to lower the cost of living to you, the BARP member, as well as the successful offering of many well attended workshops, seminars and events throughout the year. We extend a big thank you to all of our concessionaires, business partners and fellow not-for-profit organisations for their loyalty and contribution to the Association.

We cannot fail to mention the successful launch of our BARP On the Move campaign which acquired the status of national importance as we valiantly took up the fight against non-communicable diseases. On this note, enjoy but do not over indulge in the many rich and unhealthy foods abundant during the season.

Also of note is the BARP/Globe Finance co-branded visa credit card which we launched at the 2014 annual general meeting. This visa credit card offers numerous benefits including lower annual rates, lower interest rates and loyalty points.

Although the year 2015 is expected to have its challenges, we will continue to bring innovative projects and pursue ways and means to enhance the health and quality of life of our members.

A special thank you to the many volunteers and friends of the Association who have selflessly given of their time and continue to serve on the various committees of BARP. Volunteers are the very heart of BARP and your dedication has not gone unnoticed.

We take this opportunity to thank all of our members who have graciously given to the BARP Personal Assistance Fund over the past months. Your contributions provided us with the necessary funds to assist BARP members in dire need.

We urge you to continue to embody the spirit of the season and to be your brother’s keeper in the coming year. Give to those less fortunate than you; a little is better than nothing at all.

Lastly, to my colleagues I thank you for the dedication and professionalism exhibited in 2014 and I trust that 2015 brings renewed vigour and commitment in everything that you endeavour to do.

Merry Christmas. Let us all continue to be Bold Active Resourceful Proud.
