At least one section of Barbados wants to draw blood this season – and you should let them.
The blood levels at the Blood Collection Centre of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) are at a critical low and a new appeal has been made for donors to supply the lifesaving liquid since an earlier appeal gained little response.
At the time when the world celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ who paid the ultimate sacrifice, Barbadians are being asked to help others remain alive.
Blood collecting technician Wendy Lorde explained that around this, and other major holidays, donors were few at the blood bank.
