Early 2000s win Kolij tourney

SEEMS THE BEST school team on the island isn’t the best team from its own school.

Or even its own decade.

Tournament MVP Saeed Norville had a game-high 37 points before national basketballer Rahiim Gibbons had three treys in a decisive fourth-quarter run, as the “early 2000s” beat Harrison College’s current team 88-77 in yesterday’s Clash Of The Decades title game at Crumpton Street.

It was the fitting climax to the school’s first ever out-of-season tournament, which turned into a battle of the 2000s after the competition’s youngest squads advanced to the championship game.

But the reigning two-time school champs just couldn’t add the Kolij tournament to their recent tally while struggling to contain the Premier League trio of Norville, Gibbons and Aamir Morris.
