DESPITE previous rebuffs, the Men’s Educational Support Association (MESA) says it will be seek to collaborate with women’s groups in the new year.
MESA’s head Ralph Boyce told the DAILY NATION that in spite of being rejected by some groups, he would pursue joint action in certain areas, including the need to eliminate gender-based violence and to remove problems holding up child support payment through the law courts.
“We made two or three efforts to have a joint meeting [with women’s groups] over a period of time and in all cases we were rebuffed,” he said at the weekend. “In one case they told us: ‘You can’t tell us when and where to meet’.
“But we are clear that we have to sit in a joint session or two with the executives of women’s groups to tackle problem issues facing men and women.” (TY)
