BIRTHDAY BOY Winston ‘Woody’ Richardson was today celebrated as the island’s newest centenarian with a specially arranged visit to Government House to see Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave.

Woody, who walked from the parked car up the driveway to the main entrance of Government House, also stood when Sir Elliott arrived.

Showing his vivid memory, Woody spoke of his contribution to Barbados athletics, amateur radio and his job with the Water Works, as the Barbados Water Authority was formerly known.

When asked by Sir Elliott how he felt on his special day, Woody said he felt like 100 years, but not old. (LK)
