CRICKET LEGENDS of Barbados have been out and about during the festive Yuletide season.

Some of Barbados and the region’s best known cricketers of yesteryear mingled with staff and guests of the Ocean Two Resort last Tuesday during the manager’s cocktail party at the luxury property.

Among those enjoying the night out at the beachfront resort in Dover were Desmond Haynes, Cammie Smith, Courtney Browne and Vasbert Drakes.

The legends were engaged in conversation by several British visitors and jokingly reminded about some of their exploits in West Indies colours.

During one of the conversations, visitors Michael and Samantha Black, of northeast England, reminded Haynes of his days in the North Yorkshire League as a 20-year-old.

Browne was also reminded of his 2004 ICC Champions Trophy performance with Ian Bradshaw in England, in fading light, when they steered West Indies to victory.

“We were happy to have the legends with us.  We are always seeking ways to enhance the Ocean Two experience for our guests and along with entertainment by a local choir, we invited the cricketers to enjoy the evening with us,” said operations manager Paul Collymore. (BA/PR)
