ABOUT A DOZEN MEMBERS of the Roving Response Unit are on the scene at Cheapside, St Michael where a tree has fallen into the road.

A huge mahogany tree, which was in the graveyard at St Mary’s Anglican Church, fell into the road just after midday.

It has damaged one headstone, as well as the wrought iron wall which surrounds the church.

Members of the Roving Response Unit are using chain saws to cut the tree into smaller pieces before it is taken away.

They estimate it will take another two hours before the job is done. (RL)
