In the corner of Waves Hotel and Spa, where musicians set up their musical equipment, is a lovely painting of two musicians on their wind instruments and one on his piano. The artist is unknown.
Across from there and close to the bar, women busy themselves selling their colourful produce bananas, pumpkin, cabbage, oranges and much more – from wooden trays. These must not be confused with the woman who actually peddles her jewellery close to where musicians entertain guests. These are women whose faces are embedded on canvas and who represent the work of artist Vanita.
There will not always be art exhibitions, but there will always be art somewhere to draw your attention to the finer things of life. Allow yourself to find some exotic pieces and to be mesmerised by lovely pieces of painting. (CCH)
