Parents ‘pushing kids to drugs’

Some parents are encouraging their children to get involved with illegal drugs, counsellors warned yesterday.

That’s why a lot of young people see nothing wrong with it, they said.

And to prove their point, the counsellors cited a number of instances at a seminar for secondary school principals, senior teachers and guidance counsellors on Youth And Addiction – Know The Facts at Verdun House, St John.

Property coordinator at the Substance Abuse Foundation, David Waithe, said he sees parents on the block smoking marijuana with their little children present. (LK)
