When it comes to short cricket, there is no tall order for the West Indies.
The men in maroon proved that again yesterday by coming up with a whirlwind, record-breaking T20 run chase at the Wanderers in South Africa, to earn a rare early series victory, erasing for now their disappointment of losing the Test series last week.
Enigmatic opener Chris Gayle, still not 100 per cent fit, again proved to be the difference-maker, as his boundary-studded 90 allowed the West Indies to make South Africa’s 231 look quite meek.
Gayle smacked nine fours and seven sixes, as the West Indies pulled off an incredible four-wicket win at a packed stadium, which went quiet as the Caribbean visitors chased down the score.
