JUST OVER TWO weeks since Vincentians commemorated the first anniversary of the lives lost in the December 2013 floods, St Vincent has once again been thrown into a state of mourning after a minivan carrying mainly schoolchildren plunged over a cliff and into the sea on the rugged north windward side of the island.

Of the 14 hospitalised, ten were taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in the capital Kingstown, and four to the Georgetown Hospital, which was closer to the scene.

One of the survivors, Terrill Thomas, 12, recounted to the SEARCHLIGHT the horrifying moment passengers realised something was wrong.
