THE WALLED GARDEN Theatre of the Barbados Museum and Historical Society (BMHS) is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
In addition, there will be a redesign of some of the museum’s core galleries.
This was revealed today by director of the BMHS Alissandra Cummins who said the redesign project will see the museum double the space it currently occupies.
Some of the exhibits will become more interactive using audio, visual and digital media.
President Sir Trevor Carmichael said the Walled Garden Theatre will provide a location for cultural events of national significance and provide a place for young artists to display their talents.
Next month the BMHS will host the Scarlet Gala, the Museum’s major fundraising activity. The funds will go toward the museum’s heritage education, preservation and conservation initiatives. (LK)
