The fight has only just started.

This was the defiant message from president of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) Walter Maloney as he addressed the more than 100 marchers and members of the media after yesterday’s protest march through Bridgetown.

“People have suffered and we are saying this is enough. The fight is on and we must continue to make certain the working class people be able to live and live decently,” he declared.

Maloney later thanked those who came out and said they showed “solidarity is still alive and well”.

“Any injustice to a worker is an injustice to all workers and this march shows that once you touch me, you touch you and you touch all of us,” he said.
