AS IT MARKED its golden anniversary, Deacons Primary School held a celebration yesterday in which it praised God, thanked former students and reflected on many achievements.

During a service at St Stephen’s Anglican Church under the theme Building On Our Legacy, former pupils, teachers, Ministry of Education officials and Member of Parliament for the area Chris Sinckler all paid tribute.

“We have excellent teachers, we have wonderful management in the Ministry of Education and we have a dedicated core of parents, without whom this entire process would collapse,” Sinckler said.

“So we also have to thank the parents for their contribution and as well, those volunteers who might not be parents, but who from time to time would have come into the space of Deacons Primary School and contributed to activities.”

The school’s choir sang O Praise Ye The Lord. Reflections came from past students, including principal of Harrison College Juanita Wade. (RL)
