Elderly man succumbs to injuries

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING a serious accident which resulted in the death of an elderly driver. 

This accident occurred about 2.55 p.m. on January 21, 2015 at the junction of Bennetts and Sandy Lane Roads, St James. 

The deceased  is 76-year-old Denis Wentworth-Linton of Barracks Hill, Christ Church who was the driver of a motor car which collided with a truck driven by 51-year-old James Boyce of Kingsland, Christ Church.

Members of the Barbados Fire Service extricated Wentworth-Linton who was trapped in his car. He was reported to have received lacerations to his head, right shoulder and back.  He was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by an ambulance, where later in the evening he succumbed to his injuries.
