Seek counsel, PM tells Carrington

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has advised embattled Speaker of the House of Assembly Michael Carrington to seek legal representation in light of the recent development that caused him and the Opposition Barbados Labour Party to clash in Parliament.

Speaking on the sidelines of the unveiling of the Yarico monument at Kendal Plantation, St John, yesterday, Stuart said that, based on all the information that had been available to him, the outstanding issues were going to be properly resolved.

In the meanwhile, he said, he had advised Carrington not to try to deal with the matter himself but to retain a lawyer to assist him. That advice, he added, had been taken and the matter was being handled accordingly.
