Red too hot for Green

DARE TO CHALLENGE A CHAMPION and you might just push him to do his best and soar to higher heights.

That was the storyline at the Lawrence T. Gay sports at the National Stadium yesterday when Red House clung on to their crown with arch-rivals Green House chasing them down right down to the end.

Much of what Red achieved was due to the efforts and success of victrix ludorum Tonika Griffith who took victories in the long jump, 100 metres, 80 metres and 150 metres and inspired her colleagues.

Mylyka Scantlebury added more fuel to the red blaze with wins in the Under-13 long jump and the 100 and 200 metres double. Teammate Alysha Mascoll lent good support placing second behind her in the sprints.
