Bajans beat Kenya in polo finale

TWO GOALS from the mallet of Danny Atwell and one each from Rhys Odle and Teddy Williams handed the Mango Bay-sponsored Barbados team a well deserved 6-4 victory team over Kenya in the final of their polo series at the Lion Castle grounds on Sunday.

Playing under overcast skies and the occasional threat of rain, Barbados started out like a team on a mission and took the fight to the Kenyans from the opening bell.

It took a while for the visitors to find some kind of rhythm and Barbados slotted home three goals to lead 3-0 at the end of the first chukka.

Atwell opened the scoring with a spot hit from about ten yards in the right side of the Kenyans’ goal bars. (CH)
