FORMER PRIME MINISTER Owen Arthur was in the House of Assembly today.
Members of the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) were not.
When today’s sitting began, MP Cynthia Forde was the only Opposition member in the chamber.
However, as soon as Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite rose to speak on the Offences Against the Person (Amendment) 2014 Act, Forde left the Chamber.
Other members of the BLP were reportedly in the office of the Leader of the Opposition.
They have vowed to stay away from the House of Assembly as long as Speaker Michael Carrington occupies the chair.
Independent member Arthur took his place on the same side as Government, the farthest seat from the chair in the front row. (TY)
