Yellow dethrone Red at Wesley Hall

IT’S BEEN WRITTEN that the last shall be first.

Yellow House has been consistently in the cellar position at Wesley Hall inter-house sports, but yesterday they turned the tables on all their rivals and improveded their credentials at the National Stadium.

They won the championship by 38 points as they dethroned champions Red House who finished third as they sought a sixth consecutive triumph.

The new champions posted 394 points while Blue was second with 356, Red got 309 and Green  294.

Yellow showed intent from early, with Asha Stevenson, taking the Open Girls 600 metres in 2:07.29.

In between intermittent showers, victor ludorum Kevion Newton punished the Under-9s with quick-fire performances in the 80 metres (12.19), the 100 metres (15.35) and the 150 metres (23.96). He won the long jump as a bonus with a leap of 3.54 metres to earn 40 points.
