THE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST (SDA) Church has made it clear that its pulpits will not be used to push political messages.

Dave Cumberbatch, an attorney at law, who is still to be ratified by the Democratic Labour Party (DLP), and hotel executive Colin Jordan for the Barbados Labour Party (BLP), are both Adventists who grew up in St Peter and whose families live in close proximity.

The seat is held by former Prime Minister Owen Arthur, an Independent in the House of Assembly, who resigned from the BLP last year.
