Set B all the way at Combermere

INTERMITTENT SHOWERS threatened to spoil Combermere sports all day.

Yet Set E’s reign still came down hard.

After a year in the wilderness, Set B are back on top of Waterford again, as CARIFTA medallist Ramarco Thompson and victrix ludorum Misha Nelson led the champion house to yesterday’s resounding inter-house victory by just over 100 points at the school grounds.

Spurred by the day’s top three individual point-accumulators, the once perennial bridesmaids – who finished second four of the previous five years – led from start to finish to tally 926.5 points.

Defending champs Set E, despite closing a 48-point gap to 32 at one stage, had to settle for a distant second with 826 points, while Set D (701), Set F (590.5), Set C (562) and Set A (551.5) never truly featured in the meet.
