ARE YOU where you’ve always wanted to be?
I am where I’ve always wanted to be. However, I do have new goals and aspirations to attain in the near future.
What is your biggest professional challenge?
Staying focused on one task at a time. I’m a multitasker at heart and my brain is always working overtime, so I may be working on one task but my brain is also engaged on another.
What is your biggest life challenge?
My biggest life challenge was my fear of the water; swimming. I overcame that last summer. My next challenge is diving.
When you look to the future what do you see?
Early retirement. Travelling the world and spending more time with family and friends.
What is your favourite pastime?
Going to the beach. Now that I’m no longer afraid, I find it very calming and Barbados has some lovely beaches. I also enjoy watching a good television series and reading a good suspense novel.
What is your favourite meal?
I love seafood, especially octopus or ‘seacat’ as it’s called here.
On Saturday nights where are you likely to be?
More than likely I’m at home relaxing or liming with friends. I may go to the occasional karaoke (nope, I don’t sing).
What upsets you the most?
People not using their initiative and handling their responsibilities effectively. I also don’t appreciate people that are ‘know-it-alls’. I believe you can learn something from anyone.
What is your guiding philosophy?
Do what makes you the happiest, do something you’re really passionate about.
If you had the chance to manage Barbados for a day, what would you do?
I’d put systems in place to increase efficiency and productivity in the public service.
