Community expresses shock at suspected murder

THE MAN WHOSE body was discovered in a car at Mangrove, St Thomas this morning has been identified as Lamar Carter of Spring Farm, St Thomas.

Residents of the area said they were shocked by the death of the young man who was well-respected in the area.

They described Carter, who is said to be in his twenties, as a quiet person who did not “trouble” anyone. He worked as a mechanic with his father Andy Gill and had three sisters.

Police reported that a patrol car intercepted a car at Mangrove, St Thomas around 1:20 a.m.

The occupants of the car ran away and escaped, and Carter’s body was discovered inside. Investigations are continuing. (CA)
