POLL: High Prices scare cruise passengers

Date:

Share post:

THERE HAVE LONG been complaints that the high volume of cruise ship passengers do not translate into a big spend.

Taxi drivers have been making the complaints for several years as the big tour companies continue to muscle their way into the market.

Vendors in Pelican Village say they walk right past without looking in and Bridgetown merchants says there is browsing, but no buying.

So we posed the question “Do you think high prices are the reason cruise ship passengers are not spending in Barbados?”.

An overwhelming 88 per cent voted “yes”.

Overall, 957 votes were cast. See graphic above.

That poll is now closed. You can vote in the current by scrolling along the right side of the page. (SAT)
