Town hall meetings for cotton pickers

THE MINISTRY of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management, in association with Exclusive Cotton of the Caribbean Inc. and the Barbados Cotton Growers’ Association, will hold two town hall meetings for persons interested in harvesting cotton for the 2015 cotton harvest season.

The first meeting takes place on Saturday, Februrary 14, at Harrison College, while the other will be held on Saturday, Februrary 21 at the Alexandra School. Both meetings will begin at 4 p.m.

The topics to be discussed include a demonstration on the correct method of cotton harvesting; the transportation of pickers to various cotton fields; the registration of cotton pickers; and field locations.

Interested persons are asked to make a special effort to attend. (BGIS)
