A “WAVE OF FRAUD” has swept into the Caribbean and commercial banks in Barbados are not taking it lightly, Barbados Bankers’ Association president Glyne Harrison said.
He said that while the five commercial banks operating here were not “particularly alarmed” at current levels of fraud, they were dealing with the problem “in one common way”, and had established a sub-committee to manage the issue.
Harrison, who is First Citizens Bank (Barbados) Limited’s chief executive officer, was speaking to the media moments after the bank launched a new service where its credit card customers will received text message alerts about their transactions. (SC)
