Dowrich, Chase eye tons for Barbados Pride

SHANE DOWRICH and Roston Chase are in sight of centuries as Barbados Pride staged a grand recovery against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force on the opening day of their sixth round WICB Professional Cricket League match today.

Dowrich, fresh from an unbeaten hundred against Leeward Islands Hurricanes last weekend, struck an undefeated 83 while Chase ended the day on 85 in a total of 246 for four at Kensington Oval.

The two former Combermere students have featured in an unbroken fifth wicket partnership of 153 after joining forces when the hosts were under pressure at 93 for four.

Dowrich has been at the crease for three and a half hours, faced 170 balls and struck nine fours and one six, while Chase has been in for almost four and a half hours, faced 194 balls and hit ten fours.

The only other Barbados Pride batsman to offer resistance was captain Kraigg Brathwaite, who made 40.

Barbados Pride, who were sent in, earlier lost opener Kyle Corbin (22), Kirk Edwards (0) and Shai Hope 13). (HG)
