TEACHERS AT Alma Parris and Parkinson memorial secondary schools should be back in the classroom on Monday.

After four days of meetings at the Merryhill, St Michael headquarters of representative the Barbados Union of Teachers a decision was taken today to return to work.

President Pedro Shepherd said they were returning with the hope that the recommended changes, which would make the environments at the two schools conducive to teaching and learning, would have been made.

Shepherd said teachers at the schools have been enduring a lot over the years, and the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back was the way principal of Parkinson Jeff Broomes treated to the matter of weapons and a student last week.  (YB)
