I WISH TO PRAISE the Royal Barbados Police Force under the excellent leadership and guidance of Acting Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith, for the very good work they are doing.
This level of commitment and dedication to ensuring Barbados’ reputation is maintained is commendable.
This effort comes despite the failure of respective governments to enhance the working conditions and remuneration of the police. The force’s rapid response to recent criminal activity demonstrates a strong desire to rid Barbados of those elements.
However, the public must be mindful of its civic duty of supporting the police. Crime affects all of us, hence criminals should not be given shelter.
Our justice system has to deliver expeditiously to get matters going. The lengthy delays and remands could erode confidence in the system.
So Barbadians, I admonish all of you to assist and continuously work with the force.
– ORMOND MAYERS
