SCORES OF ST THOMAS residents converged outside the usually quiet District “D” Magistrates’ Court yesterday, some waiting for just over two hours for the arrival of the three charged in connection with the murder of homeboy Lamar Devere Carter.
The solemn crowd, including Carter’s father and several relatives and friends, only stirred when three unmarked police vehicles brought in the accused – Fidel Nkomo Alleyne, his brother Javed Riad Alleyne, and Malissa Carla Griffith – to appear before Magistrate Ian Weekes.
Fidel, 35, of 116 Denton Road, Grazettes, St Michael, and businesswoman Griffith, 25, of Rochester, also in Grazettes, were charged with the murder of Carter, 22, of Spring Farm, St Thomas, between February 9 and 10.
