THE SECOND PHASE of the Education Sector Enhancement Project got underway at Hilton Barbados this morning.

It will see consultants from the University of New Brunswick, Canada working closely with the staff at Erdiston Teachers’ Training College and other education stakeholders to improve the capacity of the trainers there, so that they will in turn better equip teachers to make a difference in their classrooms and help students to excel. This Enhancing Teacher Effectiveness component is expected to be completed in one year.

The first part of the project, which involves school location planning and mapping, was launched a few weeks ago and will be done over a six-month period. (YB)
