ALTAR CALL: ‘Only God’ can heal Barbados

God always wants to restore His people but before He can ever restore a nation, that nation must turn from its wicked ways and repent.

Preaching on the subject Repent And I Will Restore You, Prophetess Marguerite Breedy-Haynes, of Saving The Lost At Any Cost Ministry, said that just as Israel went into captivity because of their disobedience to God, but were later restored, so too it was God’s desire to restore Barbados.

“Barbados is in captivity because of her disobedience to God. But in Jeremiah 33, God is promising restoration and God truly wants to restore Barbados. The Bible goes on to say: ‘While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the Word of the Lord came to him a second time.’ Every time God wants to speak to a nation, He uses a prophet.

“I am sure many prophetic ministers have spoken to Barbados. We are hearing recently how a natural resource that Barbados would’ve had – natural gas – is dwindling but God is saying to me that He wants to restore Barbados. Just as Jeremiah was speaking to the children of Israel in that day, He is speaking to this nation.”

She added: “Before God can ever restore a nation, that nation must cry out to God for help, putting aside all arrogance and pride.

“We are looking around and seeing that even though everything is dwindling from this nation, Barbados refuses to call on God. And God is really calling for this nation to have a genuine humility, unconditional surrender, a plea of mercy, personal helplessness and faith in God’s power and resources.”

More tax

Breedy-Haynes said: “We are seeing that Government is putting more tax on this nation, but yet they don’t understand that only calling on God can restore this nation. The Bible goes on to say in verse three of Jeremiah 33, ‘Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ God is asking Barbados to call on Him with genuine humility.”

She explained that just like in the days of Jeremiah when God sent the Babylonians to take over Israel, the Almighty was using other Caribbean nations to take over this nation. Still, Barbados refused to come to the place of humility.

Quoting 2 Chronicles 7:14, she said: “If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

She declared: “God will restore this nation and will make you the head of the Caribbean nations again.

“God is truly looking for unconditional surrender from this nation. This is a time that God is saying, ‘I want you to show Me your personal helplessness’. When this nation comes to God and says to God, ‘I don’t have any other way, only You are the answer’, then God will say to this nation, ‘I have heard you’.

“God is saying Barbados must return to Me and the people that are called by My name, ‘the Christians’, must make a difference in this nation . . . .”
