CHRIS GAYLE did all his talking with the bat yesterday in Australia, sending record keepers scampering in the process.
The enigmatic West Indies opener noted how disappointed he was with the controversy created by a recent retweet from his board president Dave Cameron, then went out and set the record straight.
Set the records straight, actually.
Gayle put his bad patch of form firmly behind him, slamming a belligerent 215 against Zimbabwe, leading the men in maroon to a comfortable 73-run victory, and becoming the first man to score a double in the Cricket World Cup.
He also became the first non-Indian to score a double century in One-Dayers, and tied the record for most sixes in a One-Day innings with 16.
Here, a smiling Gayle displaying the tin pieces from the scoreboard to highlight his record-breaking day in Canberra.
