SCHOOL RESUMES at Combermere this morning following the early closure yesterday.
Minister of Education Ronald Jones told the DAILY NATION that the smell, which affected students and staff at the Waterford, St Michael school, is believed to have come from a property upwind of the institution, and was not related to ongoing environmental concerns at the school.
Jones said the odour has sufficiently dissipated, and other steps have been taken to further eliminate the problem.
He explained that an area close to the school was being cleared and was stirring up a smell, which appeared to be causing a problem for staff and students at Combermere.
