Jamaican heading to court tomorrow on drug charges

MEMBERS OF THE Drug Squad have charged Sydney Sylvester Simpson with several drug offences allegedly committed at the Grantley Adams International Airport.

The 56-year-old Jamaican national has been charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of two pounds of cannabis.

Simpson arrived by air last Wednesday about 6:45 a.m. from Trinidad. He was interviewed by Police and referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he subsequently passed 132 packages of the drug he had ingested. 

He is expected to appear at the District B Magistrates Court tomorrow. (PR/SAT)
